Edward Robinson (Aka: Ghetto Prince) Ghetto Prince (Edward Robinson) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His family later moved to Rochester, N.Y., where he began his dream of being an Entertainer. Ghetto began his journey of expressing Hip-Hop when he joined, along with two others, in the rap group, United MC's. During his time with United MC's, Ghetto showed his natural rythmic flow of rapping and his raw talent of human beat boxing . In 2007 Ghetto started the indepedent music company ,in Virginia known as, Gpp Global Music Entertainment, and to expand his career as a Hip Hop Entertainer Ghetto's company, Ghetto Prince Productions, works with singers, musicians, and rappers to acheive state of the art sound and music for Today's listeners. Ghetto, the C.E.O., Executive Producer, Producer, Engineer, and Arranger of Ghetto Prince Productions, has been performing and producing music since the early & late'90's, and created a professional membership with Broadcast Music Incorporated for his company. Ghetto's first performance as a solo artist was at an amatuer night competition, "Rochester vs. Syracuse," where he placed first. After three more years of placing first and second in talent competitions, Ghetto was invited to perform at a welcome home celebration for the returning troops of Desert Storm/Desert Sheild, in 1991. He also performed on the live local late night talk show, "Brother Wease Late Night Circus." In 1992, Ghetto performed in a band slam competitionhosted by Paul Brown, brother of downtown Julie Brown, fromB&B Productions. The competition featured 60 bands of all differentgenres; Ghetto placed fourth; and caught the eye of JosephBramante, CEO of Heavy J Beat Productions. During this same year, after an outstanding performance at the Empire Music Conference, Ghetto was offered a production deal with Dajhelon Entertainment Group, which is affiliated with Tony Bonjovi's Power Station recording studio. Ghetto Prince has also brought international attention to himself and his company, touring in Canada, performing in several various clubs and on Opera house while there. Ghetto began working with producer Clifton "Jigsaw" Chase from Sugar Hill Records and legendary engineer Steve Jerome. Jerome has mixed for groups like Cameo's ("Alligator Woman"), Luther Vandross and various other Sugar Hill artists. Demos were recorded, and Ghetto began opening for big name artists such as Frankie Beverly, Maze, Notorious B.I.G. and A Tribe Called Quest. In 1994, the Rochester Museum and Science Center launcheda recording of Ghetto's in a time capsule space arc entitled,"The Archives of Humanity." After 18 months with Dajhelon,Ghetto began recording in Staten Island, N.Y., at BroadcastStudios. There he met and recorded with artist, Eamon, as well as recording many other songs, all used as demos. Ghetto left Rochester, N.Y. and moved to Virginia Beach,VA., in 1999, where he and his mother, Mazie T., continued the company, Ghetto Prince Productions. In 2001, they performed at the Apollo inNew York which earned them a trip to California and an invitation, from Kermet Productions, to perform at the Road to Stardom Conference. That year they also received the opportunity and pleasure of opening for big name artist, Jaheim, in Portsmouth, VA. Due to a large response from Ghetto's 2003 performance at the talent showcase, "A Night of Dreams," in Raleigh, N.C.; Ghetto was invited back to perform in 2004, which also proved to be very successful. Ghetto was also featured on a song entitled, "Turn off, Shut down," with new Pop-Rock artist, Jessi Hamilton from Pilato Entertainment Group, in 2003. At the time, Jessi was touring with Lou Gramm of Foreigner. Ghetto produced the compilation CD, "Puttin it down for your town; The New Beginning," in 2005, with some hot tracks, ny unsigned artists, such as: "I Can't Wait" (featuring Lichelle), "Spittin Bars" (featuring Ofron), "Summer Time" (featuring his mother, Mazie T.) and "The Bullsh**t Gonna Stop" (featuring Ofron, Pretty Tony (from Star Trek Music), & Ghetto, himself). Amongst Ghetto and Mazie T.'s performance at a National Guard homecoming in Raleigh, N.C., with an audience of more than 15,000 troops and family; one of Ghetto's songs was used by, dance choreographer, Angela Kenyon Davis, in her Raleigh, N.C. performance and video shoot. Her response from the show was that "The song is great and everybody loved it." Ghetto Prince's song "Do It Den" debuted in the Top 40 countdown on New Artist Radio, which features all genres of music, and is determined through listener votes. New Artist Radio is an online radio station in Utah that celebrates the sound of independent artists. Due to all of Ghetto's accomplishments throughout the years, his progress and talent was undeniable and he was awarded the 2006 Hip-Hop artist of the Year award by New Artist Radio.Among his latest accomplishments, Ghetto released a single, "The Only One," has his music in regular rotation on international stations as well as having several live On-Air interviews; his music is currently out for digital download on all major online music store websites, he released a new CD, "Listen Up," in November 2009, which is also available for digital download; his music was placed on, a widely known Shadyville DJ, DJ Gemstarr's mixtape, "Industry vs. The Undergound," in July 2010; and he has made several big name connects with entertainers such as oldskool artist, Jalel from Whodini, legendary Hip-Hop artist, KRS 1, and iconic comedian, Tracy Morgan.The future is bright for Ghetto, he is building a solid foundation of quality talent to compliment his music. His stage shows with Mazie T. are award-winning performances that are still raved about in Virginia to this day. Ghetto Prince has come a long way through a short period of time.
